Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an STA Engineer for Underbody to lead industrialization and manage quality and capacity at Tier 1 supplier sites across machining, forming, casting, heat treat and final assembly operations. This role focuses on new model launches and in-series production with cross-functional teams and aims to ensure robust supplier performance.

The position requires up to 75% travel, expertise in PFMEA and G8D methodologies, and a track record of manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science/Engineering or equivalent manufacturing/quality experience.
• Knowledge of Underbody and/or Transmission commodities manufacturing processes.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time for program launches.

Responsibilities

• Lead flawless launches at supplier sites with Launch STA team and PPAP processes.
• Conduct onsite supplier evaluations for priority commodities.
• Support capacity studies with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Review supplier tooling plans for PPAP compliance.
• Drive capacity uplift actions with suppliers and study requirements.
• Manage date-to-green plans with Ford and suppliers.
• Monitor PPAP status and supplier capacity across sites.
• Review CAR reports for capacity compliance.
• Drive PFMEA, SCCAF, CP reviews and health chart deployment.
• Develop and deploy supplier health charts and processes.
