Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will provide leadership across a new model development program from initial concept through launch at the final assembly facility. You will develop tooling and facilities, apply lean manufacturing principles, and lead virtual assembly builds while driving resolution of manufacturing issues.

You will interface with Design and Release, develop process instructions, lead tooling start-up, and ensure cycle times, throughput, and workstation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months in manufacturing, including internships.
• Willingness to travel and support launches at North American plants (USA, Canada & Mexico).
• Travel up to 40–50%.
• 1+ year of Microsoft Office experience (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing engineering leadership from concept to launch for a new model program.
• Develop tooling and facilities based on product and process, apply lean principles.
• Lead virtual manufacturing assembly builds and drive issue resolution.
• Interface with Design and Release activities and prepare process instructions.
• Lead tooling specification, installation, start-up and commissioning at the assembly site.
• Track open tooling and process issues and drive to closure against exit criteria.
• Prepare management presentations and drive quality, cost and labor improvements.
• Support launches with extensive travel, standing and walking in plant environments.
