Responsibilities
The SSN-(X) Advanced Manufacturing Strategy Analyst will support the Team Submarine SSN-X Future Attack Submarine Program Office by developing and driving strategy for integrating new advanced manufacturing techniques into SSN(X) design and construction plans. Responsibilities include:
- Providing technical and programmatic support for risk management, scheduling, strategic advising, and technical documentation.
- Collaborating with the Director Submarine Program to assist in developing design requirements for future SSN platforms.
- Coordinating with client sites at Washington Navy Yard, the Pentagon, and potentially partner and industry stakeholder locations (up to ~15–20% travel).
Location & Travel
This position is located at SPA HQ in Alexandria, VA with potential for light telework and regular travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or another technical field.
- 8+ years of experience with U.S. Navy submarine operations, design, construction, or related support activities.
- Understanding of ship specifications, ship design, and requirements processes.
- Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Active DoD SECRET security clearance.
Desired Qualifications
- Engineering Duty Officer (EDO), shipbuilder, SUPSHIP, NAVSEA 05, Warfare Center, or similar experience.
- Experience integrating advanced manufacturing techniques into ship construction processes.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or another technical field.
