Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. seeks an SSD Firmware Intern to join the SSD Engineering team.

You will work with experienced engineers to develop and optimize firmware for Micron's SSD products, gaining hands-on experience in embedded systems, debugging, and AI-assisted engineering workflows. You will participate in code reviews, test planning, and documentation, contributing to performance, reliability, and scalability of next‑generation storage solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master's degree in a technical field (Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science).
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming acquired through coursework or projects.
• Strong foundation in embedded systems, firmware development, debugging, and software engineering principles.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools and platforms (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Codex).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to work in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with firmware engineers to develop, test, and enhance SSD firmware functionality.
• Debug and resolve firmware issues to improve performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to software quality and best practices.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate firmware features and support product qualification.
• Document firmware features, enhancements, and technical information for stakeholders.
