Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Firmware Engineer to design and develop controller firmware for memory systems and SSDs. You will work with cross‑functional teams to investigate issues, improve performance, and bring new technologies to market, from design to debugging and root cause analysis.

The role emphasizes embedded C development, RTOS knowledge, and fault analysis on resource‑constrained hardware, with opportunities for AI-assisted tooling and exposure to PCIe/NVMe memory ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience with 8+ years of industry experience
• Experience developing embedded firmware using C for resource-constrained systems
• Experience debugging firmware and performing fault analysis in hardware-software environments
• Knowledge of RTOS, memory management, compilers, and low-level system architectures
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, and enhance firmware for memory controllers and SSD solutions
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve firmware, hardware, and system-level issues
• Perform bench testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigations using AI-assisted tools where appropriate
• Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to isolate issues and drive product improvements
• Create and maintain firmware design documentation and technical specifications
