Job summary

Ligori & Ligori Attorneys at Law in Tampa seeks a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support SSD cases. You will handle phones, filing, and client communications, and work closely with attorneys on evidence development and case management.

The role requires organizing case notes, managing medical records, and preparing SSD forms and appeals, while coordinating with clients and witnesses. A fast-paced environment demands strong multitasking and professional communication.

Qualifications

• Must have a High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies preferred.
• At least 1 year experience as a Legal Assistant in a Social Security Disability department preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and maintain an organized filing system for legal documents and client billing.
• Maintain accurate case notes and document in case management program.
• Interview clients and witnesses to gather information and schedule meetings/hearings.
• Obtain, review, and organize medical records and other supporting evidence.
• Prepare and submit SSD forms, correspondence, appeals, and other documents.
• Assist attorneys with SSD claims preparation and development.
• Monitor deadlines, appeals deadlines, and other milestones.
• Provide general admin support, calendar management, and travel arrangements.
