Responsibilities

  • Implement the ARTAS strategy for individuals newly diagnosed with HIV or lost to care.
  • Coordinate timely linkage, referrals, and follow-up for HIV care, partner services, STI and hepatitis services, TB screening, mental health, substance use treatment, and other supportive services as needed.
  • Promote routine and opt-out HIV testing, HIV self-testing, and other HIV prevention and testing strategies in healthcare and community settings.

Job Description

This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties. Under general supervision, serves as Linkage Coordinator for HIV Services and is responsible for navigating activities related to HIV testing, linkage to HIV medical care, retention and the re-engagement of persons living with HIV into medical care, treatment, and support services. Perform HIV testing, counseling, and outreach for high-risk residents in the community. Ensure implementation of timely disease intervention strategies to decrease the prevalence of HIV and STDs. Other duties as assigned. This is a grant-funded position under the HIV Prevention Program.

Essential Functions
  • Implement the Antiretroviral Treatment and Access to Services (ARTAS) strategy for individuals newly diagnosed with HIV or lost to care
  • Coordinate timely linkage, referrals, and follow-up for HIV care, partner services, STI and hepatitis services, TB screening, mental health, substance use treatment, and other supportive services as needed.
  • Promote routine and opt-out HIV testing, HIV self-testing, and other HIV prevention and testing strategies in healthcare and community settings.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Prgm Coord 1 (SSP030) or equivalent.

Preferred Job-Related Skills

General knowledge of HIV/AIDS care processes, Ryan White eligibility requirements and community resources, understanding of the unique needs of populations most affected by HIV, and lived experiences related to HIV care or prevention services. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Valid Georgia Driver’s license with a good driving history.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands

General office environment with multiple appointments, phone calls, and emails daily. This position does require some physical exertion. May require some lifting, but no more than 50 lbs. Not always a sedentary position; will require some walking and long periods of standing during field work and outreach events. Requires flexibility of working in general office environment, clinic environment, and community outreach. Local travel and occasional overnight training/travel possible.

Salary Information

Salary Information: $46,632.33 Annually / Pay Grade I *** Current state employees’ salary will be subject to State Personnel Board rule provisions. If you have questions regarding salary, please do not hesitate to contact WA***

Remote Work: Employees authorized for remote/hybrid work must reside and perform their job duties exclusively within the state of Georgia. Remote/hybrid work arrangements outside the state are not permitted under current policy.
