Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado/Boulder seeks a Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) Analysis Manager to lead research, architecture development, analysis, evaluation, and test strategies shaping next-gen SRM technologies. You will define technical direction, mentor engineers, and deliver innovative solutions across multi-program initiatives.

The role includes standardizing analysis processes, producing major technical documents, and engaging with government and commercial partners to advance SRM products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in fluid, structural, thermal and/or performance analysis of aerospace components and systems.
• Experience leading teams of engineering analysts.
• Ability to interpret and influence engineering drawings, specifications, system requirements and test data.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and interfacing with internal/external customers.
• Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems and strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in failure investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of industry standards and accepted analysis methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Resource plan and prioritize program deliverables across a team of analysts.
• Provide strategic technical direction, mentorship and oversight across SRM projects.
• Lead collaboration with government partners to advance SRM development and testing.
• Develop processes for analysis standardization, documentation and traceability.
• Produce and review major technical reports, proposals, and product specs.
• Lead urgent failure investigations and corrective actions.
• Deliver technical briefings to internal and external customers.
• Drive best practices and capability development across the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
