Job summary

Chevron Corporation in Houston, TX is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the integrity, reliability, and technical consistency of IT products and solutions, in partnership with DevOps and Agile teams.

You will drive proactive incident prevention, improve operational excellence, perform SRE assessments, coach Agile teams on SRE maturity, and accelerate adoption across the organization; on-call support during U.S. business hours is included.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS, IT, engineering, or related field.
Production IT experience.
Troubleshooting complex performance issues in production.
Experience in Agile and DevOps environments.
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, automation, and on-call support.

Responsibilities

Drive proactive incident prevention through service performance analysis and process improvement.
Troubleshoot and resolve production system performance issues in Agile environments.
Provide on-call operational support during U.S. business hours.
Conduct SRE assessments and identify maturity gaps; develop improvement plans.
Improve system reliability via monitoring, logging, automation, and site reliability initiatives.
Collaborate with SRE Community of Practice to define standards and best practices.
