Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Systems Engineer MID - Transport Config to support enterprise WAN/BAN networks onsite at Norfolk, VA. The role requires DoD clearance and Cisco routing/switching expertise to design accurate configurations and drive reliability.

You will develop configurations, review requirements, and collaborate with SRE and network teams to implement standardized, automated solutions while maintaining documentation and quality across environments.

Qualifications

• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II at start date.
• Active CCNA certification at start date.
• Experience with Cisco IOS/Ios-XE configuration.
• Layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, and routing.
• VTP, STP, EtherChannel, ACLs, and first-hop redundancy concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop implementation-ready configurations for complex WAN/BAN networks.
• Apply standards, baselines, and configuration templates to site needs.
• Review existing and proposed network information to determine required configurations.
• Create and modify Cisco Layer 2/3 configurations across devices.
• Collaborate with SRE and network teams to ensure reliability and automation.
