Job summary

Optomi is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Lead to join a major enterprise client in Bethesda, MD. The role focuses on leading reliability initiatives across Linux and AWS environments, coordinating with onshore and offshore teams, and ensuring 24/7 operational coverage.

You will own a designated domain of applications, drive incident response, monitor performance, and apply SRE best practices to improve stability and efficiency in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering or similar reliability-focused role.
• Strong hands-on Linux operating systems experience.
• Experience supporting and managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of system reliability, performance, monitoring, and incident management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to coordinate across distributed teams.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a designated domain of multiple enterprise applications.
• Ensure reliability, availability, and performance in AWS/Linux environments.
• Coordinate with offshore teams to provide 24/7 support.
• Monitor system health and investigate performance issues.
• Troubleshoot incidents and coordinate resolution plans with stakeholders.
• Apply SRE best practices to improve stability and operational efficiency.
• Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs with engineering teams.
• Identify recurring issues and drive continuous improvement.
