Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to support Java Springboot applications in Herndon, VA or Aurora, CO. You’ll monitor, restore and optimize service health across distributed components in classified environments while contributing to CI/CD and observability initiatives.

You’ll collaborate with development teams on deployment, patching, and incident response, ensuring secure, automated software delivery and strong operational resilience. TS/SCI with poly is required or expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 3+ years.
• Minimum TS clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to pass poly within 30 days.
• Experience in SRE, DevOps, Systems or Software Engineering roles.
• Experience supporting Java Springboot applications and distributed services.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines in classified environments and Agile methods.
• Experience with Bitbucket and GitLab for version control.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot Java Spring Boot apps, distributed services, in classified environments.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analyses, and drive improvements for stability.
• Develop and maintain code, scripts, and tooling to boost performance and maintainability.
• Support CI/CD pipelines with secure, automated delivery processes.
• Manage source control branches and baselines using Git-based platforms.
• Perform system upgrades, patching and release activities with minimal impact.
• Improve observability via logging, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Assist deployment, troubleshooting of Kubernetes, NiFi, Kafka, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, ArgoCD.
