Job summary

Kong is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the global Platform SRE team. You will build, operate, and scale Kong’s multi-region SaaS platform across AWS, GCP, and Azure, focusing on reliability and performance.

The role covers Kubernetes operations, IaC with Terraform/Terragrunt, GitOps with ArgoCD, and multi-region data layers, while participating in 24/7 production support and on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience managing SaaS/PaaS systems at enterprise scale (multi-region).
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes including debugging and scaling.

Responsibilities

• Operate and scale Kong’s global SaaS platform (Konnect) across regions and clouds.
• Build, automate, and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure and deployment workflows (Terraform/Terragrunt, Helm, ArgoCD).
• Design and optimize multi-region data and caching layers (PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse, Druid).
• Operate and improve Kong Gateway and Kong Mesh in hybrid distributed architectures.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows to automate service delivery.
