Peraton seeks a senior SRE to design, implement, and sustain automated deployment and infrastructure solutions in large-scale AWS environments. You will ensure performance, security, and resilience of production systems while collaborating with software engineers, cloud engineers, and cybersecurity teams.

Responsibilities include building CI/CD pipelines, IaC with Terraform and Ansible, GitLab pipelines for Python and Java apps, automating Linux operations, and deploying containerized

Competenze

• 11 years of software development/engineering experience including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem resolution.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field highly desired; equivalent to two years of experience.
• Master's degree in a Technical Field will be equivalent to four years of experience.
• 7 years of system engineering/architecture experience.
• 7 years experience with products supporting highly distributed computing (Hbase, Hadoop, Acumulo, Big Table, Cassandra, Scality, et al.).
• At least 7 years scripting in Perl, Python, or Ruby for automation.
• At least 3 years managing and monitoring large Cloud Systems (>1000 nodes).
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph; one of AWS CKAD/Certifications listed.

Mansioni

• Design, implement, and sustain CI/CD pipelines for production applications in AWS.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.
• Build, optimize, and troubleshoot GitLab CI/CD pipelines for Python- and Java-based deployments.
• Automate Linux system administration for RHEL 8+ and Amazon Linux.
• Engineer, deploy, and maintain containerized applications using Docker and/or Podman.
• Develop automation tooling and test frameworks in Python.
• Manage Ansible playbooks, roles, collections, and plugins for enterprise automation.
• Support distributed cloud environments emphasizing availability, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Implement automated validation, security, compliance, and testing for IaC deployments.
• Conduct fault-injection, chaos engineering, and resiliency testing.
• Monitor health, analyze performance, perform root cause analysis, and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with developers, cloud engineers, cybersecurity, and architects to deliver secure, resilient solutions.
