Job summary

Forge is seeking a Manager of Site Reliability Engineering in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will lead a team focused on keeping Forge systems highly available, while collaborating with Platform, Security, Compliance, and Product to improve reliability, observability, and incident response.

You will guide engineers, champion best practices, and drive production readiness, disaster recovery, and scalable operations in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading an SRE/DevOps/Cloud Operations function.
• 10+ years in software engineering, infra, or production ops.
• Experience building and running large-scale cloud infra and distributed systems.
• Hands-on with observability, monitoring, incident response, and production support.
• Experience CI/CD, infra automation, cloud platforms, and ops tooling.
• Strong judgment and ability to influence across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage Forge’s Site Reliability Engineering team to keep systems highly available.
• Drive incident management across engineering with response, mitigation and post‑incident learning.
• Build and manage observability infrastructure: monitoring, alerting, dashboards, metrics.
• Improve monitoring coverage and alert quality to shorten time to detect and respond.
• Champion reliability best practices: service ownership, readiness, disaster recovery, production standards.
• Contribute to design, architecture, automation, and overall delivery.
• Collaborate to troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability.
• Hire, coach, and mentor SREs; support career development and team health.
• Partner with Security/Compliance/Risk to meet regulatory needs.
