Job summary

Airbnb seeks a Site Reliability Engineer to own Python initiatives and advance our platform. You will collaborate with a strong team, turning on-call noise from Helm into meaningful alerts and automating pipelines for faster releases.

Based in Portland, ME or working flexibly, you will pair-program with engineers to tackle tricky Python edge cases and tackle AWS Lambda dependency knots that have hindered Portland releases for months.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to own Python initiatives end-to-end.
• Strong written and verbal communication to explain tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Walk stakeholders through GitLab CI tradeoffs.
• Turn Helm on-call noise into meaningful alerts.
• Automate build, test, and deployment pipelines for faster releases.
• Pair-program Python edge cases with engineers in Portland, ME.
• Investigate and resolve AWS Lambda dependency issues delaying releases.
• Refactor critical modules with careful change management.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose architectural improvements.
• Build GitLab CI tooling to speed up Portland engineers.
