Job summary

KellyMitchell is seeking a hands-on Site Reliability Engineer to support AWS-hosted apps in a large Kubernetes environment. You will own production incidents, troubleshoot AWS/Kubernetes issues, and ensure end-to-end observability in a 24/7 on-site role in Greenwood Village, CO.

Responsibilities include incident response, IaC with Terraform and GitLab pipelines, and maintaining security controls and compliance. This contractor position offers on-site work with healthcare and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure in production
• Kubernetes operations and workload deployments, scaling and troubleshooting
• Experience with EKS is preferred
• End-to-end AWS services deployment, security, maintenance and incident response
• Knowledge of AWS security controls: security groups, NACLs, WAF
• Experience with AWS load balancers (ALB/NLB)
• Terraform and GitLab pipelines for deployment and management
• Observability stack: Datadog, Splunk, logs/metrics/alerts

Responsibilities

• Respond to production alerts and incidents, owning investigation through resolution
• Troubleshoot AWS and Kubernetes issues including scaling, deployments, config drift
• Perform fault isolation using logs, metrics, traces to identify root causes
• Build and tear down AWS infrastructure in prod, including hardened AMIs
• Manage EKS, Kubernetes workloads, security groups, WAF, load balancers, Global Accelerator
• Deploy Kubernetes resources and manage scaling and deployments
• Maintain infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines (Terraform, GitLab)
• Implement end-to-end observability and incident workflows
• Integrate monitoring/alerting tools with incident response platforms
• Automate tasks with Python or shell scripting
• Maintain security controls and compliance within SLAs
• Monitor asset inventories and participate in governance
• Collaborate with local/offshore teams for stability
