Position Summary

The Senior – Welder-Fabricator is a highly skilled tradesperson who specializes in creating metal components and structures utilizing qualified welding and fabrication techniques.

Job Responsibilities
  • Layout fabrication projects according to prints, mostly pre-cut parts.
  • Select appropriate materials for projects based on prints.
  • Fit up and assemble metal components according to print specifications.
  • Identify and implement the correct qualified welding techniques for each weld process.
  • Install insulation on steel surfaces with welds and anchors as required.
  • Complete welding tasks to support product sales, efficiency, quality, profitability, and on-time delivery goals.
  • Operate all welding equipment according to material selection.
  • Problem-solve and adapt during the fabrication process.
  • Maintain a commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred in a related field.
  • 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience required.
  • Certifications such as CWS, CWI, CWE, CRWT are preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Arc, MIG, TIG, and gas welding procedures, tools, and equipment used in structural repair of light and heavy equipment and tanks, including various steel types and aluminum.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, and regulations related to welding operations.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills, including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use various hand tools, power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torches.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
Physical Aspects / Work Environment
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, handle, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see.
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Exposure to hot/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risks, and chemicals.
  • High noise levels may be encountered.
  • Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable performance of essential functions.
