The Senior - Welder-Fabricator is a highly tradesperson that specializes in creating metal components and structures utilizing qualified welding and fabrication techniques.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Layout a fabrication project according to prints. (Mostly pre-cut parts).
• Be able to select the correct material for projects according to prints.
• Fit up and assemble metal components according to print.
• Be able to identify and implement the correct qualified welding technique for each weld process.
• Some projects require installing insulation to steel surfaces with welds and anchors.
• Completes required welding tasks necessary to support Product Sales, Efficiency, Quality, Profitability, and on-time delivery goals.
• Completes assigned tasks efficiently and with an attention to detail and quality.
• Sets-up and operates all welding equipment according to material selection.
• Being able to problem solve and adapt in the fabrication process.
• Commitment to safety in the workplace.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Associate's Degree or Equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred in related field.
• 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience require.
• Certification such as CWS, CWI, CWE, CRWT preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of Arc, metal inert gas (MIG), tungsten inert gas (TIG) and gas welding procedures, tools, and equipment used in structural repair of light and heavy equipment and a variety of different tanks to include knowledge of various types of steel such as cast components and aluminum.
• Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, and safety regulations related to the operation of various welding operations.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with peers and management in a positive team atmosphere.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to hot and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
