Job summary

Schmal, Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Sr. Warehouse Specialist to gain expertise in domestic and international shipping, HTS classification, and import/export documentation while supporting inventory control and key account orders.

Responsibilities include processing export documents, ERP-based preparations for inbound shipments, compliance with U.S. export laws, and coordinating stock with cyclical inventories. Forklift experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of shipping/receiving and inventory control experience.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/inventory control system.
• Strong knowledge of shipping/receiving standards and documents including LTL freight and parcel shipments.
• Knowledge of international shipping and receiving processes, HTS, EEI, import/export documentation.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
• Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
• Ability to work for extended periods at a computer workstation.
• Forklift experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle import/export documentation and data entry; provide customs clearance information for inbound shipments.
• Prepare internal documentation via ERP for incoming shipments.
• Prepare and process export documents, commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and export declarations.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. export laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of HTS classification and coordination of orders for accounts with special requirements.
• Inventory control; reconcile discrepancies and manage stock locations.
• Participate in cyclical inventory stock takes.
• Rotate aged or obsolete inventory as needed.
• Handle external customer goods and samples for testing purposes.
• Work with LTL/truck freight shipments and learn new aspects as necessary.

Description

The Sr. Warehouse Specialist will possess and continue to gain comprehensive knowledge of domestic and international shipping, customs compliance, knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, and import/export documentation. Responsible for inventory control, processing key account orders, and general warehouse responsibilities as required. Have an advanced understanding of warehouse processes and documentation with the goal to continuously improve processes and efficiencies. Will assume special tasks as required where an advanced level of understanding is necessary.

Position Overview:

• Import/Export documentation and data entry, provide Customs clearance information for inbound international shipments
• Preparing internal documentation via ERP system for incoming shipments
• Preparing and processing export documents, commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and export declarations
• Ensuring compliance with U.S. export laws and regulations
• Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification
• Organize and coordinate orders for specific customer accounts that have special requirements
• Inventory control, reconcile inventory discrepancies, maintain/ create stock locations as required
• Participate/Organize cyclical inventory stock taking
• Responsible for stock rotation of aged, obsolete, or unnecessary inventory
• Handling of External customer goods, Samples sent in from customers for testing purposes
• Working knowledge of LTL/ Truck freight shipments and/or willing to learn as necessary

Qualifications:

• 10 plus years relevant shipping/receiving, inventory control experience
• Strong knowledge of ERP/inventory control system
• Strong knowledge of shipping/receiving standards and documents including LTL freight and Parcel shipments
• Knowledge of International shipping and receiving processes, commercial invoices, EEI’s, HTS, import export documentation
• Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and maintain organization
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
• Must have the ability to lift and/or carry at least 30lbs
• Ability to work for extended periods at a computer workstation
• Forklift experience is a plus
