Job summary

Peraton seeks a Senior Voice and Video Engineer to support government conference rooms and video endpoints in Washington, DC. The role covers configuring, monitoring, and maintaining secure voice and video systems for 24/7 operations with U.S. government clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field with 8 years’ related experience, or equivalent."
  • Current IAT Level II certification and CCST Networking certification are required.

Responsibilities

  • Tier III support for incidents on voice and video systems, video conferencing, gateways, and control systems.
  • Provide End User support including in-room and external network assistance and scheduling of video conferences.
  • Test and configure existing hardware, apply security controls and certificates, and perform platform-specific tests.
  • Perform patching and firmware upgrades, break/fix, and daily ops support including onsite for events.
  • Test and evaluate video infrastructure equipment such as multi-controller units, meeting systems, and video servers.
  • Test and evaluate video endpoints and peripherals and document all testing activities.
  • Develop and deliver end-user training on endpoint devices.

Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for a Senior Voice and Video Engineer to support a contract onsite in Washington, DC.In this role, the Senior Voice and Video Engineer will be responsible for configuring, managing, monitoring, and maintaining government Command and Control (C2) conference rooms and video-teleconferencing endpoints.

Peraton has served as the prime contractor for this program since its inception in the 1980's. We provide high-level government leaders with reliable secure voice, video, and fax communications anytime, anywhere, in any environment in support of day-to-day operations. We support a secure, worldwide, high-performance communications network comprised of real-time interactive applications allowing complex national and worldwide communications. Peraton provides the O&M of the network infrastructure and its components. We provide integration for development of hardware and software solutions, and engineering support for the delivery of system, network, software, and security solutions.

TheSenior Voice and Video Engineeris responsible for but not limited to:

  • Tier III supports reported customer incidents supporting voice and video systems, desktop video systems, video conferencing systems, video gateways, and video control systems.
  • Provide End User support, to include in-room and external network support with graphical user interface access and operability; troubleshooting, scheduling and administering video teleconferences.
  • Conduct testing and configuration of existing hardware, including application of security controls, generation and application of security certificates, and specialized configuration testing for individual platforms.
  • Perform patch and firmware upgrades of devices, break/fix support and daily operations and management support, including onsite assistance for special events.
  • Testing and evaluation of video infrastructure equipment such as multi-controller units, meeting systems, video content servers, and video control systems.
  • Testing and evaluation of video endpoint devices and associated peripherals.
  • Documentation and reporting of all associated testing activities.
  • Develop and provide training to end users on the various endpoint devices.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
  • Must be able to work shift schedule (Panama) supporting 24/7 operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree inan IT-related field and 8 years of related experience or a commensurate combination of education, training and experience, is required;four years of relevant experience in the above-cited duties may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • A current 8140/8570 IAT Level II compliant certification.
  • CCST Networking certification.
  • Expert-level knowledge of VoIP technologies
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in support of Cisco CUCM environment for video collaboration.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current CCNP-Collaboration certification.
  • Experience with the ITIL library in support of incident and change management.
  • Experience with a maintenance ticketing system to manage incidents and problems.
  • Knowledge of Solarwinds, Splunk, and Variphy monitoring systems.
  • Previous experience supporting a government and/or Department of Defense customer.

Target Salary Range
$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
