Sr. Verification and Validation Engineer

Position Overview

The Verification and Validation Engineer supports NPD and sustaining projects by reviewing requirements, developing test cases, executing tests, and generating reports. The role involves detailed product analysis, hands-on testing, and supporting design and automation of tests. This position is part of the Det-Tronics Engineering Test & Approvals Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review requirements for completeness and testability, providing input to design and product teams.
• Ensure traceability of sub-system requirements and test coverage.
• Develop verification and validation test cases aligned with customer and system requirements.
• Create and execute test plans using tools like Jira.
• Perform hands-on testing, document results, and write reports.
• Generate coverage and traceability reports to track testing progress.
• Support development of tests, fixtures, and automation.
• Maintain certifications and support audit preparations.
• Develop risk-based test plans and participate in process reviews.
• Support internal testing capabilities and investigate customer complaints and field issues.
• Mentor entry-level technicians and engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years experience testing electromechanical products.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Physics preferred.
• Experience with product development, verification, and validation testing.
• Knowledge of safety and performance standards.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with requirement and issue management tools like R4J, Xray, Jira.
