Base pay range

$95,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

Position Summary

The Verification and Validation Engineer supports the V&V activities of New Product Development (NPD) and Sustaining projects by reviewing requirements, developing test cases, linking test cases to requirements, creating test plans, executing tests, and generating reports. The role involves detailed product analysis, hands-on product testing, and supporting design and development of tests, fixtures, and automation. The engineer will work as part of the Det-Tronics Engineering Test & Approvals Team to verify and validate system and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review requirements for completeness, clarity, testability, and linkage to test cases.
• Collaborate with product development teams to ensure traceability and coverage of requirements.
• Develop verification and validation test cases based on customer and system requirements.
• Create test plans and execute tests using tools like Jira.
• Perform hands-on testing, document results, and write reports.
• Generate coverage and traceability reports to track progress.
• Support the design of tests, fixtures, and automation.
• Maintain certifications and support audits.
• Develop risk-based V&V and regression test plans.
• Participate in process reviews and document validation activities.
• Support test capability development and root-cause investigations.
• Mentor entry-level technicians and engineers.
• Manage work requests efficiently.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience testing electromechanical products.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics (highly preferred).
• Experience with product development, verification, and validation testing.
• Knowledge of safety and performance standards.
• Strong communication skills.
• Organizational skills for managing multiple projects.
• Experience with requirement, test, and issue management tools such as R4J, Xray, and Jira.
