Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in UX/UI, interaction design, or visual design.
• Automotive UX/HMI experience a plus.
• A distinctive visual design style backed by a polished portfolio.
• Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• Mastery of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Protopie (or similar prototyping tools).
• Experience designing for touch, gesture, voice, and multi-screen environments.
• Deep understanding of design for motion, transitions, and spatial interfaces.
• Exceptional communication, storytelling, and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work on-site daily in Torrance, CA.
• Cultural fluency and ability to collaborate with international teams (especially Japan).

Overview

Honda is redefining the future of driving—and we're seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer to help lead that vision. This role blends creative direction and hands-on design execution for next-generation in-car digital interfaces, creating emotionally engaging, intuitive, and brand-defining user experiences for millions of drivers worldwide. As the Creative Director for UI/UX in spirit, you’ll think holistically about the human experience inside the vehicle. You’ll lead strategic design conversations, interpret consumer behavior, leverage driver research, and work closely with both our Torrance-based and global R&D teams in Japan. We’re looking for a hybrid talent: visionary strategist and master craftsperson. You’ll lead ideation, wireframe prototypes, and pixel-perfect execution—all while infusing innovation into our HMI design systems and component libraries.
