Job summary

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. seeks an innovative Creative Design and Research Intern for the Summer 2027 session in Torrance, CA.

You will collaborate with vehicle styling, digital modeling, and UI/UX teams to create futuristic vehicle concepts and digital user experiences. You will create vehicle sketches, research CMF palettes, design UX/UI graphics and digital dashboards, and conduct consumer research on North American automotive trends.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accredited Bachelor's or Master's in Transportation Design, Product Design, or UX/UI.
• Sophomore standing or above with a minimum GPA of 2.5+.
• Available for full-time work (40 hours/week) for a minimum 10-week summer term.
• Strong portfolio showcasing automotive sketching, 3D digital modeling, or UI/UX design.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License and reliable daily transportation.

Responsibilities

• Create vehicle styling sketches, digital concept models, and design renderings for upcoming programs.
• Research CMF palettes and develop physical and digital concept boards.
• Design UX/UI graphics, motion assets, and digital dashboard interactions.
• Conduct consumer research on North American automotive trends, lifestyle shifts, and mobility desires.
• Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to build physical prototypes and present to design executives.

• Research color, materials, and finish (CMF) palettes and develop physical and digital concept boards.
• Design user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) graphics, motion assets, and digital dashboard interactions.
• Conduct consumer research on North American automotive trends, lifestyle shifts, and mobility desires.
• Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to build physical prototypes and present to design executives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree in Transportation Design, Product Design, or UX/UI.
