The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization leverages Amazon’s scale and speed to build a more resilient and sustainable company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally and drive solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.

The Amazon Worldwide Sustainability Tech team develops products and tools to measure and mitigate Amazon’s social and environmental impacts. Our team ensures high standards by applying scientifically credible approaches that influence all aspects of our business, from packaging and product design to data centers and airline fleets.

We are seeking a Senior UX Designer interested in enabling internal and external customers to make informed decisions to reduce and manage social and environmental impacts through our tools.

Key job responsibilities

1. Collaborate cross-functionally with design, program, product, and engineering teams from problem statements to solutions, setting UX guidelines, testing experiences, creating assets, and ensuring quality.
2. Create the vision for developing, communicating, and implementing the user experience and UI framework for various products, following through with processes and tactics to realize this vision.
3. Utilize various inputs to identify and define new concepts, opportunities, and customer problems.
4. Communicate design thinking effectively, driving discussions and reviews with team members and executives.
5. Leverage user research, customer feedback, analytics, and data to inform design decisions.
6. Develop pattern libraries, templates, and tools for diverse users on our platform.

Minimum qualifications

• 8+ years of design experience
• Available online portfolio
• Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax
• Proven track record of leading design for large or ambiguous projects
• Experience applying Scrum to UX design processes
• Experience with UX design of complex workflows
• Experience in sustainability or data-heavy products
