Job description

Job Objectives : Manage and grow a portfolio of environmental casualty insurance products through strategic business relationships with wholesaler and retailer brokers. Utilize your business acumen and underwriting skills to develop pricing and negotiate terms and conditions in order to build a profitable book of business.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

• Underwrite new and renewal environmental casualty products (general liability combined with site pollution, contractor's pollution, and contractor's professional, commercial auto, supported and unsupported excess) and negotiation of policy terms and conditions while adhering to Allied World Environmental Underwriting Guidelines.
• Broker distribution : strategically develop broker relationships to generate new business opportunities and manage existing accounts.
• Prepare quotes, binders, referrals, and document underwriting files in compliance with company guidelines.
• Develop and manage positive and effective working relationships with a commitment to service for all stakeholders (brokers, insureds, and internal personnel) leading to high customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate and perform regular marketing calls, account stewardship meetings, and events to promote Allied World product offerings. Participate in local professional organizations and engage with existing and prospective insureds and brokers on key developments in the marketplace.
• Continue professional development through relevant training courses, continuing education, and / or seminars.

Compensation :

The below annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below the listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but not limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one component of Allied World's comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.

Desired Skills and Experience

• 1-3 years of experience underwriting environmental liability insurance products including site pollution, contractor's pollution, and contractor's professional policies working with both retail and wholesale brokers.
• Practical knowledge and experience with all environmental liability products and services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with both internal and external contacts.
• Ability to provide superior customer service to our brokers and insureds.
• Strong analytical and computer skills.
• Strong business and relationship management skills to develop new business opportunities, retain renewal accounts and establish long term strategic broker relationships.
• Excellent organizational and desk management skills with ability to work independently and demonstrate effective prioritization of workload.
• CPCU or ARM, designations preferred.
• Approximately 25% travel required.
