Base pay range

Position Summary:

The Sr. Transportation & Logistics Manager is responsible for optimizing logistics operations, managing freight spend, and ensuring efficient delivery of goods. This role works closely with internal teams and external carriers to handle freight audits, credits, carrier performance, and logistics systems. The Senior Manager will lead negotiations, analyze small packaging, LTL, truck freight, and shipping rates, and ensure cost-effective shipping solutions while maintaining high service standards. This role will oversee one individual.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage logistics operations, including freight spend, carrier relationships and shipping systems.
• Conduct freight audits and analyze credits to optimize logistics costs.
• Oversee carrier performance and develop shipping rate strategies, including setting up markups for various carriers (UPS, DHL, USPS, third-party providers).
• Collaborate with production and other internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and effective logistics operations.
• Analyze packaging requirements, weight breaks, freight zones, tariffs, and rate structures to drive efficiency.
• Manage small packaging, LTL, truck freight, and post office/mail innovations for cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure accurate implementation of domestic and international logistics, including Canada.
• Drive and oversee logistics-related projects from start to finish, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business objectives.
• Develop and maintain logistics procedures and ensure compliance with internal systems.
• Support peak shipping periods, manage high-volume order fulfillment, and lead cross-functional collaboration to meet logistics goals.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of relevant logistics experience; 5 years of managerial experience.
• Extensive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a focus on small packaging, LTL, truck, and third-party logistics.
• Strong project management experience with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage complex logistics projects to meet deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex data analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SQL).
• Expertise in freight auditing, carrier performance analysis, and evaluating freight rates and tariffs.
• Knowledge of packaging, weight breaks, freight zones, and tariff structures for both domestic and international shipments.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, cost management, and process improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive key results and solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data and recommendations clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
