Job summary

Central Transport is seeking a Terminal Manager to lead dock operations at a busy LTL terminal in the United States. The role emphasizes strong leadership, staff development, and adherence to safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have LTL management experience or related leadership capabilities, plus the ability to hire, coach, and mentor employees while maintaining focused customer service and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Prior LTL management experience strongly preferred.
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service.
• High aptitude for technology.
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week average.
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal.
• This includes the process of loading & unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dockworkers.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring KPI goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase.
