Job summary

Central Transport in Salt Lake City, UT, seeks a Terminal Manager with a proven LTL operations background to lead dock and terminal teams, drive safe and efficient freight handling, and meet KPI targets. You will recruit, coach, and mentor staff while upholding a culture of excellence in service.

Ideal candidates have prior LTL management experience, strong leadership, tech aptitude, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal.
• Manage loading & unloading freight, forklift traffic, and palletized freight handling.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff.
• Provide leadership to drivers and dock workers.
• Monitor dock production to meet/exceed KPI goals.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure compliance with company operational model.
• Support a culture of excellence in service to customers.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase.

Central Transport LLC is one of the nation’s most reliable and technologically advanced LTL (Less-than-Truckload) carriers to date. We are privately owned and have been servicing manufacturing & retail companies of all sizes for almost 90 years now. Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule of:

Monday-Friday 6:00AM-4:00PM

Salary ranges from:

$100,000-$115,000 per year including up to 20% in quarterly bonuses

Terminal Manager

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Prior LTL management experience is strongly preferred
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week average
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal
• This includes the process of loading & unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock workers
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
• Ensure company operational model compliance
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase
