SR Terminal Manager

Job summary

Central Transport is seeking a Terminal Manager to lead dock operations at our Salt Lake City terminal. You’ll recruit, hire, onboard, and manage a team of drivers and dockworkers while ensuring safe, efficient freight handling and KPI attainment.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, a proven track record in LTL management, and a readiness to work a 50-hour week. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Prior LTL management experience strongly preferred.
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.
• Desire to surround customers with excellence in service.
• High aptitude for technology.
• Ability to multi-task while being detail oriented.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week average.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal.
• This includes loading & unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dockworkers.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring KPI goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase.
