Job summary

AlloSource is seeking a Senior Technician to perform aseptic tissue processing and mentor staff in a Controlled Work Area. You will ensure compliance with SOPs, maintain accurate records, and lead training sessions for colleagues. Strong communication and a background in tissue processing are essential.

The role requires certification or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years in tissue handling, with a schedule that may include holidays and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• CTBS or CSPDT certification required or approved by management.
• Minimum 3 years of tissue processing experience.
• Proficient in English communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to aseptic technique and processing practices per standards.
• Interpret product specifications and perform tasks per procedures.
• Complete accurate processing records per Good Documentation Practices.
• Lead training and mentoring of employees in tissue processing.
• Provide feedback to management on trainee progress.
• Promote safe, positive, and productive work environment.
• Assist decisions on tissue output vs discard and participate in CPI program.
• Maintain schedule of at least 36 hours per week with overtime as needed.

Education

Job description

The Senior Technician works in a Controlled Work Area (CWA) and is responsible for performing and mentoring/training other employees in:

• CS (Central Services)
  • Decontaminating, cleaning, and sterilizing reusable equipment and supplies that are utilized in Production.
• Tissue Processing
  • Safely and aseptically processing human tissue and cell products according to applicable SOPs, WIs, and product specifications.

Depending on the product/process, the Senior Technician may utilize various tools, equipment, machinery, and chemicals.

Anticipated Application Deadline: May 1, 2026

Pay: $2.50 or $3.50/hr. will be added to the current employee’s base pay

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhere to aseptic technique and processing practices per applicable standards.
• Interpret applicable product specifications and perform tasks according to established procedures and company expectations.
• Complete accurate processing records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
• Primary resource for training employees in the area of expertise.
• Communicate feedback to the management team on the progress of trainees.
• Act as cultural champion to promote a safe, positive, and productive work environment.
• Provides input and guidance when questions arise whether tissues will be output as product or discarded.
• On a rotating schedule, this position will work on company-observed holidays.
• Overtime and call-in work will be determined as needed.
• Lead warmup routines at the designated times for the respective shift.
• Actively looks for improvements and submits to the CPI program.
• Must maintain a regular work schedule of at least 36 hours per week, with additional overtime or call-in responsibilities as determined by business needs.
• Adhere to and promote proper practices and techniques which are consistent with current operating procedures, training requirements, safety practices, and company policies.
• May perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) certification, Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or another certification approved by management
• Minimum 3 years of tissue processing experience
• Must not be on PIP and/or final warning
• Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to communicate in English proficiently (speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension)

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field
• Experience in performing aseptic techniques and in a medical or laboratory environment
• Previous FDA and/or Tissue Banking experience
