Job summary

Butler America Aerospace, LLC is seeking a Sr. Technician to support testing of electronic and hybrid parts in Buena Park, CA. You will set up tests, record data, troubleshoot, and ensure compliance with procedures and specs.

Requirements include a two-year technical degree or 5+ years of relevant experience, plus strong PCB/test equipment skills and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Training on first shift with a flexible start time.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or 5+ years of equivalent technical experience.
• 5+ years as an electronic technician working with discrete/hybrid/PCB components and relays.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities with failed components or test equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics.
• IPC-A-610 solder certification or equivalent.
• Familiarity with PCB assembly (SMT/TH) and related test equipment.
• Good interpersonal communication and basic MS Office skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run standardized electronic tests on discrete/hybrid parts and relays.
• Troubleshoot problems with set-ups and equipment and correct as needed.
• Record and interpret test results according to specifications.
• Refer failed units to the appropriate department.
• Maintain test logs and required paperwork.
• Verify paperwork on travelers for lot integrity.
• Collaborate with engineers and team members to resolve issues.
• Read and interpret procedures, blueprints, and schematics.
• Operate test equipment for functional testing.
• Troubleshoot final products and PCBs.
• May direct or train other technicians.

Location: Buena Park, CA
Salary Range: $28.00 - $30.00 (based on education and experience)
Shift: Flexible start time at or after 10:00 AM; will need to be on the first shift for the first few months for training.

Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, sets up and runs standardized tests on electronic/hybrid parts, components or relays according to published procedure. Records and interprets test data, maintains required logs and files. Troubleshoots and corrects set-ups/equipment when necessary.

Primary Responsibilities

• Set-ups and runs standardized electronic tests on discrete/hybrid parts, components or relays according to published procedures
• Troubleshoots problems with set-up/equipment and corrects when necessary
• Records and interprets test results according to specifications
• Refers failed units back to the appropriate department
• Maintains all test logs and required paperwork
• Checks work order travelers against incoming parts for paperwork accuracy prior to testing
• Completes necessary items on travelers to maintain lot integrity
• Interfaces with engineers and other team members to resolve problems with set‑ups, procedures, etc.
• Read and interpret procedures/ blueprints/ schematics
• Ability to use test equipment to perform functional testing
• Troubleshoot final and PCB products
• May direct or train other Technicians

Basic Qualifications

• A two-year technical degree or more than 5 years of equivalent technical experience
• More than 5 years of experience as an electronic technician working with discrete/hybrid/PCB components, parts or relays utilizing standardized test equipment
• Strong troubleshooting abilities with failed components/systems or test equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electronic and schematics
• Completion of solder school certification in IPC-A-610 or equivalent certificate in J-STD
• Strong familiarity of PCB assembly (SMT, TH, etc.)
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Basic computer skills MS Office; Word Excel (keyboard, data entry, etc.)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
