Job summary

Disney Experiences Technology in Orlando, FL is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to identify, plan, and coordinate related projects within a program and manage interdependencies to support business strategies.

You will lead schedules, scope, quality, and costs, collaborating with engineers, product managers, and leadership to drive successful delivery and ROI across large initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of technical project/program management experience with technical teams.
• Understanding of Cloud, APIs, services, database technologies, SDLC, and platform dependencies.
• Influence, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on experience with Agile, Lean, Kanban, and Waterfall methods and blended styles.
• Deep understanding of Agile practices, DevOps and testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD).
• Experience coaching teams on project management practices including Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall.
• Ability to understand architectural and technical aspects and manage large budgets.
• Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, Keynote, Smartsheet, Clarity, Jira, Tableau, and Power BI.

Sr Technical Project Mgr

At Disney Experiences Technology, our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company's premier vacation brands including Disney's Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including the MyDisneyExperience app.

As a Senior Technical Project Manager you will identify , plan and coordinate a set of related projects within a program and manage their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies. You will also apply project management principles and techniques to lead project schedule, scope, quality, cost and performance risks. The Senior Technical Project Manager will work closely with cross-discipline technology teams, leadership and business partners to understand technical and business direction, milestones and budget, as well as provide thought leadership to project management team.

The Senior Technical Project Manager will report to the Manager, Technical Project Management.

What You'll Do

• Drives execution and delivery of technical projects through full delivery life cycle ensuring project is delivered timely and on-budget .
• Works with engineering teams, including Software Engineers, Product Managers, Architects, and leadership to establish processes across all program areas that will ensure success on strategically prioritized projects and improve efficiency.
• Defines, optimizes , and manages Agile project management ceremonies and processes for large project teams. Manage hardware/software procurement of assigned projects
• Develops a program plan comprised of parallel projects and multiple project managers that collectively produce work that has significant business impact
• Monitors & adjusts program plan to respond to unplanned changes, ensuring program is progressing to meet business goals
• Creates governance practices and provides senior-level leadership oversight and control for the program
• Implements fiscal practices and controls, authorizing, recording, and reporting on program expenditures & ROI
• Develops infrastructure needed to support the program

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of technical project/program management experience working with technical teams developing enterprise class solutions
• Understanding of Cloud, APIs, services, database technologies, technologist roles and responsibilities, capabilities & platform dependencies, software development lifecycle, engineering and/or product development
• Influence and negotiation, communication, professional maturity & organizational savvy, relationship building, dependency mapping
• Hands-on experience with practices such as Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall as well as extensive experience with pragmatic blending of styles to facilitate collaboration and delivery
• Deep understanding of Agile technical practices, DevOps and testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD)
• Significant experience in coaching and mentoring teams on project management practices including Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall
• Excellent ability to understand architectural and technical aspects of a project
• Experience managing large project budgets
• Experience with tools such as: Microsoft suite , Keynote, Smartsheet, MyPPM (Clarity), MyJira , Tableau, and PowerBI .

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Experience in supporting large-scale, global software development programs
• Agile Certifications ie CSM; ACP; CPO; SAFe ; LeSS

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $120,400 to $161,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
