Description

Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Leo, Amazon's long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world?

It's Day 1 for Amazon's next billion-dollar business and we are looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology and information systems, who thinks and acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess both the technical background that enables them to work with technology and a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically about Project Kuiper initiatives. They will experience a wide range of problem-solving situations requiring an understanding of technical infrastructure and stakeholder expectations.

Key job responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of system implementation projects from design to deployment including integration with Amazon Corporate systems (OFA, Concur, ADP, and HR).
  • Build deployment project plans and manage risks impacting successful delivery.
  • Develop use cases by gathering business requirements, work with software development to build required features, clearly communicate dependencies and manage/track exceptions.
  • Participate in Proof of Concepts (POCs) sessions to ensure proposed solutions can meet business requirements.
  • Active participation in Unit Test, System Integration Test, User Acceptance Test, and User Training.
  • Have an ability to navigate through a large amount of ambiguity and drive consensus between cross-functional stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrate crisp communication skills, have experience communicating project status to a broad audience and be willing to follow appropriate escalation channels to ensure delivery as planned.
  • Possess a strong program management background, have experience leading large/complex/cross-org projects, and have a well-rounded technical background.
  • Drive project schedules from design to release, managing the production launch for a product/feature, and using metrics to provide status along the way.
  • Relentlessly simplify and demonstrate significant innovation, creativity, and good judgment when solving challenging problems.
  • Drive best practices on the team, deal with ambiguity and competing objectives, and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks.
  • Write effective narratives and present them concisely and effectively to senior management.
  • Develop program and team processes and tools as required.
A day in the life

This role will be highly collaborative, requiring partnerships with cross-functional leaders to drive positive results. You will tackle challenging business problems and have the opportunity to work with Leo and Corporate technical teams.
