Federal Express Corporation in Chicago, IL seeks a seasoned maintenance technician responsible for the upkeep and repair of package sorting and container handling equipment. You will maintain electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems according to FedEx procedures and safety standards.
Requires four years of maintenance experience, including prior FedEx sort systems exposure, plus the ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various positions and shifts.
Maintains and repair all package sorting and container handling equipment; maintains all electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems in accordance with established FedEx maintenance procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma/GED
Four (4) years experience, of which 24 months being as a FedEx sort systems technician, or 24 months of maintenance on similar equipment/systems, as a commercial/industrial maintenance technician with background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic & materials handling systems maintenance.
Must possess good working knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment and procedures. Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver heavy sort related components, parts and equipment with appropriate equipment and/or assistance. Good interpersonal and oral communications skills. Ability to access equipment by crawling, laying, standing and/or climbing at all heights both above and below ground level.
Must be willing to work odd work weeks, o/t, holidays & rotating shifts. Valid driver’s license required. Non-covered safety sensitive position; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Pay Transparency: This position is located in Chicago, IL.
Pay: The pay rate for Chicago, IL starts at $33.00 an hour.
Additional Details: Must be able to work four 10 hour shifts.
