Qualifications

• 7+ years of Data Warehouse/ETL experience with data validation focus.
• 2+ years hands-on DBT experience (Core or Cloud) and Snowflake knowledge.
• Strong Informatica familiarity and ability to map to DBT models.
• Experience supporting SIT, defect triage, and data reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end source-to-target data validation across Informatica and DBT implementations.
• Validate data completeness, accuracy, transformations, and business rules across layers.
• Execute record count, aggregate, reconciliation, SCD, and incremental-load validation.
• Analyze data discrepancies and identify root causes before routing defects to dev teams.

Senior Technical Data Validation & DBT Engineer (ETL Modernization)

The Senior Technical Data Validation Engineer will play a critical role during System Integration Testing (SIT) for the Data Warehouse Modernization Program. The role is responsible for validating migrated data pipelines, performing source-to-target reconciliation, identifying root causes of data discrepancies, and partnering with development teams to accelerate defect resolution.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in DBT, Snowflake, ETL/Data Warehouse concepts, SQL-based reconciliation, and legacy Informatica workflows, with the ability to independently analyze complex data issues and provide actionable defect diagnostics.

Roles & Responsibilities

Data Validation & SIT Support

• Perform end-to-end source-to-target data validation across Informatica and DBT-based implementations.
• Validate data completeness, accuracy, transformations, aggregations, and business rules across staging, core, and mart layers.
• Execute record count, aggregate, reconciliation, SCD, and incremental-load validation.
• Analyze data discrepancies and identify root causes before routing defects to development teams.
• Prepare SQL evidence, impacted records, and detailed defect diagnostics to improve defect quality and reduce turnaround time.
• Participate in SIT defect triage sessions and collaborate with development teams to accelerate issue resolution.
• Validate data lineage and trace data flow across source systems, DBT models, and Snowflake objects.

DBT & Data Engineering Support

• Translate Informatica mappings, transformations, and business rules into DBT models where required.
• Develop and maintain DBT tests (schema tests, custom tests, data-quality validations).
• Design and implement staging, core, and mart layers using DBT best practices.
• Participate in performance analysis and optimization of DBT models and Snowflake queries.
• Support deployment validation and migration activities across environments.

Quality & Governance

• Contribute to SIT strategy, test case reviews, and validation frameworks.
• Ensure defects are documented with clear root-cause analysis, business impact, and remediation recommendations.
• Support regression testing and release validation activities.
• Maintain validation documentation, reconciliation reports, and testing evidence.

Experience & Skills

• 7+ years of experience in Data Warehouse, ETL, Data Engineering, or Data Validation.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with DBT (Core or Cloud).
• Strong experience in Data Warehouse Migration / Modernization programs.
• Experience supporting SIT or large-scale data validation initiatives.
• Developer-level understanding of Informatica mappings, workflows, and transformations.
• Experience working with Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms.
• Good communication skills and ability to read/understand existing ETL logic and requirements documentation.
