Sr Systems Programmer - Mainframe Security (RACF)

We are seeking a Principal Systems Programmer with deep expertise in mainframe security (RACF) to take on a critical role as the Platform Security Architect for a global mainframe infrastructure team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and drive mainframe security initiatives and projects across z/OS, z/VM, and Linux systems.
• Serve as the security subject matter expert, guiding developers and stakeholders on security best practices.
• Architect and maintain security controls and standards across a diverse environment of ~150 z/OS systems and supporting Linux platforms.
• Perform root cause analysis, problem determination, and provide first-line support through the on-call rotation.

What We’re Looking For:

• Demonstrated experience leading RACF security projects (not just administration).
• Strong background in z/OS architecture, IBM utilities, and ISV mainframe products.
• Hands-on expertise with RACF, DFSMS, SMPe, REXX, JCL, and related tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain mainframe security concepts to technical and non-technical teams.
• 10+ years of RACF experience and 15+ years as a Systems Programmer (flexible if you bring strong security project leadership).
