L3Harris Technologies is hiring a Sr. Systems Engineering Manager, T&RF, in San Diego, CA.

This role leads a multidisciplinary team of 10–12 engineers focused on capture through sustainment of RF, satellite, and secure communications systems for defense and space missions. The candidate drives MBSE adoption (SysML) across programs, ensures artifacts meet contract and industry standards, and coordinates with PMs, product lines, and manufacturing to achieve technical and schedule objectives.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field with a minimum of 12 years of related experience (or 10 years with graduate degree).
• Experience leading systems engineering activities for defense/aerospace programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a systems engineering team of 10–12 direct reports across multiple T&RF programs.
• Own system requirements decomposition, ops concepts, architecture, interfaces, verification planning, and baselining from capture to production.
• Drive adoption of model-based systems engineering and digital engineering, including SysML-based modeling for traceability and verification readiness.
• Collaborate with PM, Chief Engineers, software, hardware, QA, and supply chain to hit cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
• Support customer engagements, technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and proposal activities.
• Balance staffing, priorities, and plans across multiple efforts while meeting milestones and commitments.
• Ensure artifacts comply with contract requirements and relevant standards for defense/aerospace programs.
• Lead trade studies, risk/opportunity management, and issue resolution involving RF links, secure comms, payloads, and C2.
• Guide integration and test strategy, verification closure, and problem resolution across labs and fielded environments.
• Foster a culture of technical rigor, accountability, and collaboration while liaising with senior leadership and customers.
