Job summary

CACI International Inc. in Hampton, VA, is seeking a cleared Sr. Systems (Database) Administrator to support a virtualized environment with SQL Server and PostgreSQL for DGS modernization at Langley AFB.

You will maintain databases, implement automated jobs, manage virtualized data center systems with VMware, and guide Tier 1–2 staff while ensuring security and reliability across enterprise services.

Qualifications

• MUST have Active TS/SCI.
• Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience as both a Windows System Administrator and Database Administrator.
• Security + CE certification.
• Experience with Windows Server 2019+, SSMS, PostgreSQL 16.X+, VMWare, T-SQL, PowerShell.
• Bachelor's degree is desired.
• RedHat Linux is desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain databases running on Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or newer, and assist with migrations from older versions of SQL software.
• Build and implement automatic jobs, including server maintenance, data archiving, and backup creation.
• Maintain and operate a virtualized data center using VMware with Dell/EMC hardware.
• Install, support, and maintain servers by tuning system performance and configuring software and storage.
• Ensure integrity, confidentiality, and availability through patch management and backups/restores.
• Respond to outages and technical queries; troubleshoot system issues.
• Conduct systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technology.
• Update and document configuration management; troubleshoot reported problems.
• Resolve and track trouble tickets using Serena Business Manager.
• Provide technical guidance to Tier 1 and 2 personnel.

This is an immediate need that is supporting the Distributed Ground System (DGS) modernization, system operations and promotion. OA DCGS leverages Microsoft’s Active Directory environment to provide a majority of the enterprise services and operating environments, and we are looking for candidates skilled using this technology.
