Job summary

CACI is seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator (Active Directory) to support the modernization and operations of the Distributed Ground System at Langley AFB in Hampton, VA. This role requires a TS/SCI clearance and a strong background in AD, VMware, and server administration.

You will ensure system readiness, implement patching, backups, and security initiatives while mentoring Tier 1/2 staff and collaborating with the security team in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of IT/System Administration experience
• Security+ certification
• Experience with Microsoft Server 2019, Windows 11, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, VMware

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate a virtualized data center using VMware and Dell/EMC server and storage technologies.
• Install, support, and maintain servers including performance tuning, configuration, and storage allocation.
• Protect system integrity with patch management, antivirus oversight, and data backup/restoration.
• Diagnose and resolve service outages, inquiries, and system-related issues.
• Conduct system analysis and implement updates to keep technologies current.
• Perform routine system health checks across processes, services, networks, and storage.
• Update documentation, support configuration management, and resolve issues.
• Partner with the security team on upgrades, compliance, and security initiatives.
• Provide technical mentorship to Tier 1 and Tier 2 support personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and operate a virtualized data center environment utilizing VMware and Dell/EMC server and storage technologies.

Qualifications: Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
• Minimum 5 years of relevant IT/System Administration experience
• Security+ certification
• Experience with one or more of the following: Microsoft Server 2019, Microsoft Windows 11, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, or VMware
