Job summary

CAC I International Inc. is seeking a cleared Sr. Systems (Database) Administrator to support a virtualized environment at Langley AFB.

You will manage SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases, automate jobs, and maintain a VMware-based data center while ensuring secure, reliable operations across enterprise services. The role requires TS/SCI clearance, 6+ years of combined Windows and database administration experience, and familiarity with SSMS, PostgreSQL, VMware, T-SQL, and PowerShell.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years' experience as both Windows System Administrator and Database Administrator.
• Security+ CE certification.
• Experience with Windows Server 2019+, SSMS, PostgreSQL 16.x+, VMware, T-SQL, PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Maintain databases running on Microsoft SQL Server 2019+ and assist with migrations from older SQL versions.
• Build and implement automatic jobs for server maintenance, data archiving, and backups.
• Maintain and operate a virtualized data center using VMware with Dell/EMC hardware.
• Install, support, and tune servers for performance, configuration, and storage allocation.
• Ensure integrity, confidentiality, and availability through patch management and antivirus updates.
• Respond to outages and technical queries; Troubleshoot system issues.
• Conduct systems analysis to keep technologies current with evolving requirements.
• Update and document configuration management; troubleshoot reported problems.
• Resolve and track trouble tickets using Serena Business Manager.
• Provide technical guidance to Tier 1 and 2 personnel.

The Opportunity

CACI is seeking a cleared Sr. Systems (Database) Administrator to support a virtualized environment running various database technologies at Langley AFB. This is an immediate need that is supporting the Distributed Ground System (DGS) modernization, system operations and promotion. OA DCGS leverages Microsoft’s Active Directory environment to provide a majority of the enterprise services and operating environments, and we are looking for candidates skilled using this technology. The candidate for this position should be comfortable troubleshooting various issues for databases running on Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL and be willing to learn other technologies as client requirements evolve.

Responsibilities

• Maintain databases running on Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or newer, as well as assist with migrations from older versions of SQL software.
• Build and implement automatic jobs, including but not limited to, server and job maintenance and sustainment, data archiving, and backup creation.
• Maintain and operate a virtualized data center using VMWare with Dell/EMC server and storage hardware.
• Install, support, and maintain servers by tuning system performance, software configuration and allocation of mass storage space.
• Responsible for the integrity, confidentiality, availability of information systems through patch management to include antivirus installation and signature file updates and data archival/restoral.
• Respond and resolve service outages, technical queries, and other system related issues.
• Conduct systems analysis and development to keep systems as current as possible with changing technology.
• Update and document configuration management and troubleshoot any reported problems.
• Resolve and track trouble tickets utilizing Serena Business Manager.
• Provide technical guidance to Tier 1 and 2 personnel.

Qualifications

• Required: MUST have Active TS/SCI.
• Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience as both a Windows System Administrator and Database Administrator.
• Security + CE certification.
• Experience with the majority of the following technologies: Windows Server 2019+, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), PostgreSQL 16.X+, VMWare, T-SQL, PowerShell.
