Job summary

Valleywise Health is seeking a Senior Systems & Data Analyst to support the deployment and development of Revenue Cycle applications across hospital systems. The role leads training, documents SOPs and workflow procedures, and ensures alignment with department goals and Valleywise Health values.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of healthcare data management, experience with revenue cycle software, and proficiency in SQL, Excel and Access. Epic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Information Systems or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years healthcare data management and analysis experience using revenue cycle and hospital financial software applications.
  • Experience with healthcare contractual systems, claim scrubbers or Epic systems preferred.
  • Training in ASP application coordination and Microsoft Access preferred.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle database programming, data structure, and data sources.

Responsibilities

Job description

Under the direction of the department manager or designee, the Sr. Systems & Data Analyst supports the continuing deployment and development of vendor proprietary Business Office and Revenue Cycle application software (multiple application systems including Revenue Cycle Analytics, Patient Accounting Systems, and 3rd party Revenue cycle enhancement applications) necessary to run clinical or financial systems within a large integrated hospital system. Leads all knowledge transfer and training activities. Manages all standard operating procedures, tip sheets, job aides, and workflow documentation relating to business intelligence activities. Leads the team in subject knowledge and productivity standards. Provides analysis of existing and proposed vendor-supplied software functionality to determine if the software conforms to current Revenue Cycle system workflow processes. Utilizes specialized, proprietary software tool sets to enable software functionality. Works within project teams to achieve team goals and outcomes, provides measurable customer service, and performs duties within Valleywise Health missions and values.

Annual Salary Range: $83,116.80 - $122,595.20
Qualifications
Education

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Information Systems or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.

Experience

Must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible healthcare data management and analysis experience using revenue cycle and hospital financial software applications that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Prefer prior experience in healthcare contractual systems, claim scrubbers or working with Epic systems.

Specialized Training

Training in ASP application coordination and maintenance and Microsoft Access is preferred.

  • Must have experience in database queries/management and report writing.
  • Must possess analytical skills to collect, analyze and translate the analysis of revenue cycle data.
  • Must have the ability to assess priorities and self-time management through deliverables.
  • Requires the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the organization.
  • Must have knowledge of the use of predictive analytics to identify root causes and emerging trends and communicate the potential effect of proposed solutions.
  • Requires the ability to effectively present information to management, customers and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Requires advanced knowledge and/or familiarity with Word, Excel, Access and/or Powerpoint.
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing, including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, andpunctuation.
  • Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
