Job summary

Watkins Wellness in Vista, CA is seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator to join our IT Team.

You’ll own day-to-day administration of servers, OS, workstations, and business apps, ensuring reliability, security, and high performance while partnering with IT leadership and development teams. You’ll scope and implement new technologies, manage upgrades and patches, support cybersecurity and compliance, mentor teammates, and help modernize our infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in a related IT role.
  • College degree and/or certification in Information Systems/Technology preferred.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy) and/or EntraID.
  • Hands-on experience with SCCM, Intune, and Azure.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization (vSphere).
  • Background in Identity and Access Management tools such as Okta or EntraID.
  • Solid cybersecurity knowledge including antimalware, cloud security, vulnerability management.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience with PowerShell or basic scripting (preferred).
  • Strong customer service, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Self-directed mindset with problem-solving and innovative thinking.
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., SCCM) and/or Cisco CCNA are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of servers, operating systems, workstations, and business applications while proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact the business.
  • Scope, implement, and support new technologies and system enhancements, while monitoring performance and maintaining system integrity across on-prem and cloud platforms.
  • Lead system lifecycle activities from planning through execution, including upgrades, patching, and maintenance, aligning with IT policies and reducing disruption.
  • Support cybersecurity and compliance efforts, including endpoint management (Intune, SCCM), IAM solutions, and audits.
  • Mentor IT support and software development teams; build stronger operational standards to improve end-user experience.
  • Balance operational ownership with strategic planning; manage vendor relationships and stay current on emerging technologies.

Reporting to the Sr. IT Operations Manager, you’ll support the daily administration and long-term stability of servers, operating systems, and enterprise tools that power the business. You’ll partner closely with IT leadership, the IT Support team, and the Software Development team to support evolving business and technology needs.You’ll help shape system improvements, ensure compliance and cybersecurity readiness, and support users across the organization.
