McLaughlin Research Corp. seeks a Sr. Systems Administrator to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities include administering Windows and Linux systems, implementing security controls, and maintaining documentation for complex IT infrastructure. The role requires DoD IA training/compliance and ability to work with SMEs. Preferred experience includes RMF and ACAS scanning, privileged access processes, and supporting Active Directory, DNS, and GPOs.

• Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• Seven+ years of professional experience in provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software.

McLaughlin Research Corp. has an opening for a Sr. Systems Administrator at the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Dahlgren VA. (pending contract award)

The Systems Administrator administers and supports daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstation, file servers, and web servers. Duties typically involve the installation of hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, , and local system design documentation. This administrator will maintain, troubleshoot, and implement network security tools including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services. This Administrator trains staff on software applicable to their position, assists customers with information technology, monitors system configuration (hardware and software), and provides instruction on computers and applications.

Demonstrated skills in the following: Administration of Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2022 (for Windows support) or Administration of Red Hat Linux 7, Red Hat Linux 8, CentOS Linux, Ubuntu Linux (for Linux support), to include drivers, applications, vulnerabilities, security requirements and postures, quarterly Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) updates, interact with corporate and vendor Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to solve complex problems, Risk Management Framework (RMF) experience, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scanning, build and maintain Windows Systems. Experience documenting trouble reports from STIGs to support computer equipment modifications. In addition, per the requirements set forth in DoDM 8140.03, as a condition of privileged access to any information system, personnel performing IA functions must satisfy both preparatory and sustaining DoD Information Assurance (IA) training and certification requirements as outlined in the directives. Additionally, personnel with Privileged Access must complete a "Privileged Access Agreement" and a “Privileged” System Authorization Access Request (SAAR).

• Ability to work independently, prioritize recurring updates, and support a collaborative team.
• Education: Master’s level degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• The individual should be goal-oriented and have a strong work ethic.
• The ability to multi-task and work in a team environment is essential.
• Maintain a current US Government Secret Clearance.
• Seven (7) years of professional experience in effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
• Experience in installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems.
• Experience of supporting Active Directory, Group Policy, and Domain Name System (DNS).
