Southeastern Comp Consultants seeks a Systems Administrator to support a DoD acquisition program at Dahlgren, VA. The role involves installing, operating, configuring and maintaining OE systems, and providing IT support to developers and users in DoD environments.

Responsibilities include planning and testing in afloat and lab environments, ensuring secure, automated operations and adherence to release schedules, and collaborating with cybersecurity and network engineers.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active Secret Security Clearance.
• High school diploma is required.
• Four years of hands-on technical experience supporting LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet and intranet systems.

Job Details: Job Location: VA-Naval Surface Warfare Center - Dahlgren, VA 22448, Salary Range: $80000.00 - $120000.00Salary, Overview

SCCI is seeking aSystems Administratorto join our team in support of a high-performing DoD acquisition program! In this position youwill provide IT customer support and technical assistance to developers and users. This position requires installation, operation, configuration, customization and usage of assigned products installed on tactical systems. Support also includes non-standard propriety support of various test equipment used for Research, Development, Testing, and Evaluation (RDT&E) of proof of concept and deployed solutions to the Navy Warfighter.This position is available for immediate hire and will be located inDahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, test, and configure Operating Environment (OE) systems for afloat and lab environments
• Provides inputs and adheres to the Software Release Schedule
• Ensures, where possible, that an automated approach is implemented in all aspects of system administration
• Supports an agile and iterative approach to development, test, build, and release
• Participate in planning, monitoring, testing, maintaining, and operating multiple operating system environments
• Recommend improvements to the Development and Test Environment
• Ensure the rigorous application of cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems
• Perform security assessments using DoD provided tools; report results to the cybersecurity system engineer; and develop strategies to mitigate discrepancies
• Closely support and interact with the cybersecurity system engineers, network engineers, system engineers, and system developers
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network related issues encountered by end users
• Install new software releases and system upgrades
• Evaluate and install patches to resolve software related issues and Information Assurance Vulnerabilities (IAVs)

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and have anactive Secret Security Clearance
• High school diploma

General Experience:

• Four (4) years of hands-on technical experience supporting LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet and intranet systems. Experience including:
• System backup and recovery
• Basic software management
• Security management
• Library management
• Knowledge of LAN and WAN network operations
• Knowledge of network analysis and problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to conduct risk and vulnerability assessment of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs by using required Navy tools.
• Ability to assess Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) by applying system scans and addressing security events to determine impact and implementing corrective actions; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security / information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT services.

Specialized Experience:

• Must have a IAT Level II or higher. This position is designated as IT-1 (i.e., possesses Security+ CE, CISSP, GSEC, SSCP, CASPcertifications)
• Basic to advanced Red Hat Linux and Solaris
• Network Protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and ICMP
• Major network security tools such as firewalls, knowledge of computing and networking vulnerabilities, attack methods and latest detection methods
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
