FHLB Des Moines is seeking a Senior Machinist to operate Swiss-centered machinery and advanced CNC equipment to produce close-tolerance medical device parts. The role emphasizes set-up validation, first-piece runs, and maintaining tight tolerances in a fast-paced production environment.

The candidate will set up 4- and 5-axis mills, Swiss machines, and live-tooling lathes, perform in-process inspections, and train junior staff.

Qualifications

• Two of the following requirements: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience operating advanced CNC production equipment. Examples of advanced equipment include Swiss. Lathe and Mill machines with live tooling.
• Successful completion of the Senior Machinist Assessment.
• Currently employed as a CONMED CNC Sr Machinist.

Responsibilities

• Set up advanced CNC machinery such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, Lathes with live-tooling, etc. and operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, tools, and accessories for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process component parts.
• Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at the rates established for a given operation
• Perform verification/validation of new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts. Perform in-process and first piece inspection
• Complete offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure product conforms to strict tolerance
• Provides training and technical training to less experienced employees.

CNC Senior Machinist - PMO Factory - Focus on Swiss MachinesKey Duties and Responsibilities:As a Senior Machinist, you will have the opportunity to utilize mills, lathes, mill-turns, and Swiss machines (among others) to produce close-tolerance parts for our medical products. Primary job function will be the operation of Swiss-centered machinery.
