Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Senior Survey Technician to bridge field operations with office deliverables. You will lead survey crews, coordinate data collection, and supervise ALTA/NSPS and boundary surveys, ensuring high-quality results across diverse projects.

Ideal candidates bring extensive land surveying experience, CAD proficiency with Carlson/InRoads, and familiarity with 3D laser scanning. Travel up to 20% is expected, with local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• NSPS or CST Level 2 certification preferred.
• Experience with Geomatics, LiDAR, UAS, GIS, GPS, and SUE is preferred.
• Advanced CAD knowledge and 3D scanning experience.
• Understanding of survey standards and safety practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead survey crews and coordinate equipment, schedules, and daily field operations.

As a Senior Survey Technician, you'll play a critical role in connecting field operations with office deliverables, ensuring projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of surveying projects while collaborating with clients, project teams, and field crews. From supporting project planning and integrating innovative technologies to solving complex challenges in both the field and office, you'll be a key contributor to successful project execution. Project travel is required but is not expected to exceed 20%, and we are seeking candidates local to the Baltimore, MD area.

Responsibilities

Lead survey crews and coordinate equipment, schedules, and daily field operations to ensure projects stay on track and meet client expectations. Perform and oversee a variety of survey projects, including ALTA/NSPS surveys, boundary surveys, construction stakeouts, and FEMA Elevation Certifications. Conduct complex survey computations, process and analyze field data, and ensure all deliverables meet industry standards and quality requirements. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to support project planning, estimating, and execution. Additionally, help drive innovation by supporting the implementation of emerging technologies such as 3D laser scanning and cloud-based data editing, while serving as a resource for troubleshooting and problem‑solving throughout the project lifecycle.

Preferred Requirements

• National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) or Certified Survey Technician (CST) Level 2.
• Experience with Geomatics, LiDAR, UAS, GIS, GPS, and SUE.
• Experience with Leica Infinity and 3D scanning.
• Strong understanding of survey standards, safety practices, and field procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and efficiency.

• This position pays between $90,000 and $100,000 annually and is an exempt position. The specific amount within this range will be influenced by the work location and various factors such as internal equity, professional skills, work experience, and pertinent education or training. Benefits offered include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match.
• Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full‑time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours and may be eligible for a discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
• 10 years experience in land surveying.
• Experience with highway and land development plans.
• Advanced knowledge of CAD as well as Carlson and/or InRoads.
• A valid driver's license for occasional project travel.
