Job summary

Super Products is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead the Purchasing, Planning, and Warehouse teams at our Mukwonago, WI location. This role ensures material availability, optimizes inventory, and drives supplier performance to support manufacturing objectives.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supply chain management, Lean principles, and supplier negotiations, with strong cross-functional collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance.

Position Summary

The Senior Supply Chain Manager provides strategic leadership, coaching, and development for the Purchasing, Planning, and Warehouse teams while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role is responsible for ensuring material availability to support production, optimizing inventory levels, developing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings across the supply chain. The Senior Supply Chain Manager works closely with Buyers, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Corporate Purchasing to achieve organizational objectives and leverage corporate purchasing agreements. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.

Essential Functions

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Purchasing, Planning, and Warehouse teams.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers to achieve the highest levels of quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
  • Negotiate supplier pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements.
  • Partner with Corporate Purchasing to leverage enterprise-wide purchasing agreements and maximize cost savings.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory days on hand, inventory turns, cycle count accuracy, obsolete inventory, supplier performance, and stockouts. Develop and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and support employee development through coaching, performance management, and training.
  • Partner with Quality Engineering to maintain a formal supplier qualification and evaluation program, including tracking supplier performance and nonconforming materials.
  • Oversee production planning activities to ensure accurate scheduling, timely release of work orders, and efficient material flow.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization, supplier performance, warehouse operations, and material flow.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership by effectively solving problems, influencing stakeholders, and motivating team members.
  • Perform and direct on-site supplier audits to qualify new suppliers and evaluate existing suppliers.
  • Ensure all materials are stored safely, securely, accurately, and in an organized manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Sales, to support new product introductions and business objectives.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management, purchasing, inventory control, warehouse operations, and production planning.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and supplier proposals to make sound business decisions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and present recommendations and business cases to senior leadership.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with point-of-use inventory systems, pull systems, Kanban, and new product introduction processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with suppliers.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while maintaining a professional, respectful, and collaborative approach.
  • Results-oriented with a strong focus on operational excellence, customer service, and profitability.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in supply chain, purchasing, materials management, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of leadership or management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required.
  • Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) or a comparable enterprise resource planning (ERP) system preferred.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • One or more of the following professional certifications is preferred:
    • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
    • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
    • Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
    • Certified Supply Manager (CSM)

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work extended hours as business needs require.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment with regular exposure to a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to walk throughout the manufacturing facility and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
