Job summary

System One in the Denver metro area is seeking a Senior/General Superintendent to lead field operations on multiple commercial projects. This hands-on, leadership role oversees Superintendents and ensures schedules, safety, quality, and budget targets are met.

The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years of commercial construction supervision, excellent communication, and the ability to coordinate with PMs, subcontractors, and owners.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience.
• Experience overseeing commercial field operations.
• Experience managing multiple jobsites or multiple superintendents.
• Strong knowledge of plans, specs and contract documents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Procore experience is a plus.

Senior / General Superintendent – Commercial Construction

Location: Denver Metro Area, CO
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $110,000–$130,000+ DOE

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior / General Superintendent to join a growing mid-sized General Contractor in the Denver metro area. This is a leadership‑level position for a hands‑on construction professional who can oversee field operations across multiple commercial projects while providing leadership and direction to Project Superintendents.

The ideal candidate is a go-getter, strong communicator, and natural leader who understands how to keep projects moving, solve problems in the field, and hold teams accountable to schedule, quality, and safety expectations.

This role is well suited for someone who has progressed beyond managing a single jobsite and has experience overseeing multiple projects, multiple Superintendents, and overall field operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee field operations for multiple commercial construction projects throughout the Denver metro area
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to Project Superintendents
• Manage and monitor overall project schedules, milestones, and field production
• Ensure projects are progressing according to schedule, budget, plans, and specifications
• Coordinate with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and owners
• Establish expectations for site safety, quality control, cleanliness, and productivity
• Review project schedules and identify potential delays or scheduling conflicts
• Help develop recovery plans when projects fall behind schedule
• Conduct regular jobsite visits and provide oversight across multiple active projects
• Assist Superintendents with challenging field issues and provide solutions
• Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance
• Ensure construction activities are properly coordinated and sequenced
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and preconstruction activities
• Help standardize field procedures and best practices across projects
• Identify potential risks and proactively address issues before they impact the project
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams
• Support the development and growth of the company's field operations team
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and safety

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of commercial construction Superintendent experience
• Proven experience overseeing commercial construction field operations
• Experience managing multiple jobsites and/or multiple Superintendents
• Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, scheduling, and sequencing
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor field personnel
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore is a plus
• Ability to travel between jobsites throughout the Denver metro area
